I made this vinyl record notebook a few months back, and didn't want to throw away the extra pieces. So here is what I made:


It keeps earrings, necklaces and ponytail holders. It's pretty ugly without all that stuff on it, but it's very practical.

Warning: Long Boring Intro

I crocheted a clutch by accident last weekend, and don't know what to do with it. It all started when I picked up a hook and started crocheting. I didn't know what I was making, I just needed to keep my hands busy. Then I noticed what I was hooking started to resemble a flower, so that's what I called it. It looked kind of bad, so I made a smaller layer to go on top of it. It still looked bad, so I sewed one of those Japanese flower thingies as a 3rd layer. Well, there was still a hole in the middle, and that's where the button came in. Now what to do with the flower? I didn't make a hat since winter is almost over, so I decided to put it aside.
On to my next random project: I started with a chain and just kept crocheting row after row. I wanted practice, so I half double crocheted the cream rows and ribbed the pink rows. That's when I decided to make it into a clutch. I didn't really like how it was turning out. The colors I used (trying to de-stash) made my clutch look like uncooked bacon. So I figured I'd put the flower on there so It wouldn't look like brakfast. After that was done, I went to store, bought some fabric and wallah:

Secret Santa Swap!

I am currently organizing the Secret Santa Big Wish Swap on craftster.org. It's pretty hectic, but super fun. I was a secret santa to 3 people.
To my fist recipient, I knitted the Official Kittyville Hat. I made 2 of these before using both knit and crochet. This pattern is better because everything is connected instead of having to sew a bunch of little pieces together. I also sent her the Quant I knitted and featured in my last blog. Hopefully she'll take some action shots for me.
The second package I sent was a huge flat rate priority shipping box full of handmade soaps and lip balm. I made the lip balms (strawberry and caramel flavored) and the soaps wrapped in brown paper. Everything else was made by my amazing aunt in San Francisco. She makes the most amazing soaps and sends me huge boxes of them.
I chose to Santa for the 3rd person because I think she is one of the most adorable little girls (that's not mine) I have ever seen. I had so much fun making these. I purchased the pattern on etsy.com from Amy Gaines. I made her a box of kawaii amigurumi food. I also included a little egg, a cup of cocoa (I made up the pattern as I went along so I couldn't tell you how I made it) with a marshmallow friend, some gummi candies that looked like hot dogs, burgers and fries, and a bunch of little pampering goodies from Bath & Body Works and Clinique for Mom.

knitty's Quant

Here is my first FO from knitty.com's winter issue, Quant. It's a panta (knitted head warmer) done in an entreloc pattern. I used a %100 peruvian wool hand-dyed by a craftster named xladyluckx.
I didn't block my Quant because I liked the texture. I hope the person I'm giving this to loves it. I'm making another one for me. Thanks for looking!

I'm a Spinster!

I just started spinning and i must say I'm hooked! Creating luscious yarn with my own fingertips and the flick of my wrist is incredible to watch. I first started out with some orange hand dyed wool roving I received from an Etsy swap. As you can see in the picture below, it came out pretty thick. I used a bottom whorl drop spindle. It was kind of uncomfortable at first, but then I got used to it. The second ball of yarn I spun was out of natural honey colored Tussah silk fiber that I purchased from Paradise Fibers. This fiber was difficult for a beginner to work with because it kept separating. It was very delicate and hard to keep together, but oh so soft. The third ball of yarn, also from Paradise Fibers, was bamboo. You can tell my technique was getting better at this point. The thickness of the yarn was more consistent. I loved working with bamboo because it felt like butter between my fingertips. It was so easy to spin and connect. If your budget allows, I definitely recommend spinning bamboo.

I saved the best for last. I purchased this beautiful hand painted and carded batt on Etsy.com from
Loop. It's gold, teal, green, blue, and a little yellow. It spun into a gorgeous thread that looks like it would be at least $40 a skein to purchase. It shimmers differently depending on the light. The colors all flow together as if looking at a midnight tropical ocean. My pictures don't do this any justice. I used a top drop spindle and no leader thread. Now I just have to find a project worthy enough to knit with this yarn.
I still don't know how to use a leader thread correctly. I always get it tangled. So, if anyone has any suggestions or helpful hints, please contact me.

Introducing: Lolita, My Love

This is my new line of Generation sake` accessories. They are everyday headbands and chokers inspired by Gothic Lolita and Elegant Gothic Lolita (EGL) styles. The Headbands are easy to wear (unlike the traditional head dresses which require pins and tying), yet still have the same look as designer Lolita hair accessories. Each Headband and choker is one of a kind and will not be duplicated. They range in color and personality.

I've started working with polymer clay, because I wanted to start making my own 3-d charms. At first I thought I was hopeless being that my best work with playdoh is a snake. But here are the little cuties I made:
